✈️ How to Reach Your Destination in Korea
Landing in Korea is just the beginning of your adventure!
Public transport in Korea is very efficient, so whether you’re rushing to a meeting in Seoul, heading to a beach in Busan, or exploring the nature of Jeju, here’s how to travel like a local.
1. Incheon International Airport (ICN) – The Gateway to Seoul
As the main hub for most international travelers, this is where you’ll likely arrive.
- AREX (Airport Railroad Express): The fastest and most affordable way to reach downtown Seoul. Don’t worry about getting lost. The airport is well-signposted with clear blue icons. Just follow the ‘Airport Railroad (AREX)’ signs, and they will lead you straight to the underground station. If you have heavy luggage, look for the elevators—they’re much easier than the escalators!
- Tap and Go: If you have a transportation card (T-Money), you don’t have to buy a ticket separately, just tag and ride at the subway turnstile!
- Airport Limousine Bus: Highly recommended if you have heavy luggage. It takes you directly to major hotels in Seoul. “After picking up your luggage, head to the 1st floor. You can buy tickets at the booths or simply tap your T-Money card when boarding. Don’t forget to check the destination and platform number on the signboards outside—it’s very straightforward! If you’re unsure, just show your destination to the bus driver or staff; they are always ready to help.”
- Taxi: A comfortable option if you are traveling with friends or family (3-4 people). Always waiting at the airport door. If you have a lot of luggage, it might be uncomfortable….

2. Gimhae International Airport (PUS) – Your Shortcut to Busan
If your destination is Busan or the southern region, this is your best entry point.
Airport Limousine Bus: The easiest way to reach popular areas like Haeundae or Seomyeon directly. Check Your Route: Visit the Gimhae Airport Transport Guide to check the bus routes and platforms in advance.
Convenient Payment: You can use your T-Money card or a credit card to pay for your bus fare directly when you board. Navigation Apps: Always use Naver Map or KakaoMap to track your bus in real-time and know exactly where to get off.
BGL (Light Rail): Efficiently connects the airport to Busan Metro Line 2 (Sasang Station).
“After exiting the arrival hall, just follow the blue signs that say ‘Airport Light Rail (BGL)’. It’s a short, easy walk from the terminal via an elevated walkway. You can easily pay your fare using a T-Money card or a credit card at the station gates. It’s the fastest way to get to the city center, such as Sasang Station, where you can transfer to the subway!”

3. Jeju International Airport (CJU) – The Island Getaway
Unfortunately, there are no subways or trains at all in Jeju. The entire island is operated by a bus-oriented public transportation system. You should use the airport express bus, city bus, or taxi to travel from Jeju International Airport to the city or tourist attraction.
If you’re flying to the beautiful island of Jeju, please note:
Rental Car: Because the intervals between buses can be long, we highly recommend renting a car for a stress-free trip. (Don’t forget your International Driving Permit!)
No Subway System: Jeju Island does not have subways or trains. The public transportation system relies entirely on buses.
Airport Express Bus: A convenient way to reach major hubs or downtown Jeju City.

Language Settings: You can change the language to English at the top right of the site, making it suitable for foreign travelers to search for routes.
Real-time Information: It is very useful for foreigners who are not familiar with public transportation because you can check the bus arrival time and route number in real time.
How to search: Search ‘Airport’ or enter the bus route number to see the detailed routes of routes through the airport right away.
