In this post, I’ve put together essential situational Korean phrases for travel — covering currency exchange, the airport, hotels, and the subway.

이런 상황들은 대부분 낯선 사람, 직원, 공무원한테 말하는 거라서 표현은 존댓말(정중한 말투) 위주로 되어 있어. 실제로 이런 자리에서는 존댓말 쓰는 게 맞거든.
Since these situations mostly involve talking to strangers, staff, or officials, the phrases are mostly in 존댓말 (polite speech) — that’s the correct register to use in these real-life settings.

How to Exchange Money Confidently in Korean

팁: 한국에서는 환전소보다 은행에서 환전하는 게 나아. 은행이 더 안전하고 환율도 훨씬 합리적이거든. 은행은 시내나 주요 지하철역 근처에서 쉽게 찾을 수 있어.
